Parkland ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support

Description

The Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Provider Course is an eight-hour course for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists and paramedics. This hands-on course teaches the “how-to” of emergency burn patient care during the first critical 24 hours after injury.

Course objectives


  • Evaluate a patient with a serious burn
  • Define the magnitude and severity of the injury
  • Identify and establish treatment priorities
  • Manage the airway and support ventilation
  • Initiate and monitor fluid resuscitation
  • Apply correct methods of physiological monitoring
  • Determine which patients need transfer to a burn center

Pricing

Course fees


  • $25 for first responders (EMTs, paramedics, firefighters) – ID required on day of class
  • $180 for all other health care workers (RNs, MDs, PAs, NPs, PT/OT)

An email will be sent prior to class with details about the location, parking and study materials. Registration closes on the first of every month for that event date.
