Parkland ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support

Description
The Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Provider Course is an eight-hour course for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists and paramedics. This hands-on course teaches the “how-to” of emergency burn patient care during the first critical 24 hours after injury.
Course objectives
Evaluate a patient with a serious burn
Define the magnitude and severity of the injury
Identify and establish treatment priorities
Manage the airway and support ventilation
Initiate and monitor fluid resuscitation
Apply correct methods of physiological monitoring
Determine which patients need transfer to a burn center

Physicians (MD/DO)
Nurses (RNs)

Pricing
Course fees
$25 for first responders (EMTs, paramedics, firefighters) – ID required on day of class
$180 for all other health care workers (RNs, MDs, PAs, NPs, PT/OT)
An email will be sent prior to class with details about the location, parking and study materials. Registration closes on the first of every month for that event date.
