Description
The nickname “Ham Radio” refers to the non-commercial radio frequencies (bands) that are designated by the FCC for public & civic use. This three-day Ham Radio Technician Course will prepare you to take the FCC exam which will be administered on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 9:00 AM at the City of Arlington Building located at 401 West Sanford, Arlington, 76011.

- *Before attending the class, each student will need a Federal Registration Number (FRN).
- Please visit FCC.Gov/Cores
- Click on Register (Need a Username?)
- Complete all required fields, click on Create Account
- Once you create an account, you will receive your FRN
- Save your FRN. You must have an FRN to take the FCC Exam.
- *Required Book: 2022 – 2026 Technician Class Book by Gordon West. NCTTRAC will provide the book to members of the HCC – E Coalition.
- If you would like to pick up your book, prior to the class, please contact Stephanie McKinnis to schedule a pickup date/time at Smckinnis@ncttrac.org or call 817-607-7015.
- On March 27th, the instructors will provide information about the testing fee and give you a map of the location to take the FCC Exam. The FCC Exam will be administered at a registered FCC location, 401 West Sanford, Arlington, 76011.
