Neonatal Brain Matters Symposium: Treating Brains, Nurturing Futures

Description

This one-day conference will offer robust information to increase knowledge and skills of evidence-based care to vulnerable neonates with neurological illness. Topics include diagnosis, treatment and a special focus on outcomes of common neonatal neurologic conditions, such as posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus, intraventricular hemorrhage, neuromuscular disorders, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, seizures and stroke. The day will consist of impactful speaker presentations, breakout sessions and a hands-on session.

  • Discuss the evolving field of neonatal brain injury including expected outcomes.
  • Review evidence-based management of common neonatal neurologic pathologies with opportunities for hands-on learning using the equipment involved in their bedside care
  • Increase awareness of NeuroNICU quality improvement initiatives
  • Discuss specific patient cases, the multidisciplinary approach to care, and their outcomes
