Perinatal Education Webinar: Emergent ECMO for an Unexpected Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorder (PASD)

Friday, July 12, 2024 (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (CDT)

Description

Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) encompasses the degree of placental adherence (accreta, increta, percreta) to the uterine wall that can lead to a multitude of complications increasing morbidity and mortality. ECMO is the highest form of life support that provides cardiac and/or pulmonary support in patients with life-threatening illness who are refractory to optimal conventional management.

This is a case review following a maternal patient post c-section delivery at an outside facility, where ECMO was initiated due to an unexpected placenta percreta.
