Respectful Maternity Care for Patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP): Language Access, Understanding, and Informed Decision-Making Join us for a one-hour session focused on promoting equitable, respectful maternity care for patients with limited English proficiency. We'll explore how language barriers impact patient understanding, consent, and shared decision-making — especially in high-stakes OB situations. This session will highlight interpreter use as a patient right and offer practical bedside strategies that support clear, compassionate communication.
