HCC - E Medical Response Surge Exercise (MRSE)

HCC - E Medical Response Surge Exercise (MRSE)

Wednesday, May 10, 2023 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

The HCC will conduct this year’s Medical Response Surge Exercise (MRSE) on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, the Hot Wash will take place on the same day from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM. The MRSE is an operations-based exercise required by the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Cooperative Agreement.

The exercise will follow the HCC – E Regional Medical Response Strategy, focusing on response actions such as information sharing and resource mobilization for a large, community-wide surge incident. This functional exercise uses a surge scenario to help our healthcare coalition and other stakeholders assess how well we can work together to respond to a sudden healthcare crisis. It is an exercise designed to test our coalition’s functional surge capacity and to identify gaps in surge planning.

There will be no movement of actual patients. This is not an in-person exercise, all participants/players will remain at their facility/organization to participate in the functional exercise. More information and instructions for how to participate in the exercise will be emailed to you next week.
