Description
Amateur Radio, commonly known as Ham Radio, is a reliable and versatile form of communication that allows licensed operators to connect locally, regionally, and even worldwide without relying on traditional infrastructure like cell towers or the internet. This class is designed to prepare participants to obtain their entry-level (Technician) ham radio license. Participants will learn basic radio theory and regulations and will be prepared to take the licensing exam at the end of the course. Students MUST obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN) through the FCC website before attending, and students MUST purchase a book and bring it to class. There will be a $14 exam fee on the last day of class.

When students arrive, please park in the back parking lot, on the east side of the building (but not in the spots by the sidewalk, please), and report to Suite 200 on the second floor, where you will sign in. There are a large number of restaurants in the general area that are a short drive away. You can even walk to a few.
